#34: Comforting a Mama’s Heart During a Formula Shortage
"U.S. stores report an estimated 40 percent shortage of infant formula, causing stress, anger and even panic among parents, grandparents and other caregivers who rely on formula to sustain their little one."
"Parents of formula-fed babies are encouraged to reach out to friends, family members and local mom groups for help. "I feel like our only recourse is parents helping other parents," Kraft says. 'This is a situation where we have to understand that these are all our babies. We need to work together to help.'"
So I say this prayer with a heavy mama heart with hope that this crisis will end as soon as possible. This prayer also sends each and every mama a glimmer of hope that there is light at the end of the tunnel and serves as a reminder that there ARE people out there want and willing to help. Find THOSE people and walk right past the conflicts you might stumble upon. You know what you have to do for your child.
“From everyone who has been given much, much will be demanded; and from the one who has been entrusted with much, much more will be asked” (Luke 12:48).
“With great power comes great responsibility.”
"We have been given much, and God desires us to use what He has given to further His Kingdom and proclaim His glory. It’s what we were created to do. “Then Jesus said to his disciples, ‘Whoever wants to be my disciple must deny themselves and take up their cross and follow me. For whoever wants to save their life will lose it, but whoever loses their life for me will find it. . . . For the Son of Man . . . will reward each person according to what they have done’” (Matthew 16:24–25, 27). We are living sacrifices (Romans 12:1), giving the things God has given us in service to others, and in that we actually find life. God, the giver of all good things (James 1:17), gives us everything we need to fulfill His will. “Freely you have received; freely give” (Matthew 10:8)."
"Lord, I trust in you and lean on you. I thank you for your mercy and provision for me and my family. I come to you again and ask that your will be done in this situation we are currently facing. Guard my heart and my mind and keep me focused on your will. Lord, please send your Holy Spirit to breathe your peace into my soul and walk with me on this journey."
